Jenny Shapiro, a native east-coaster from Philly and Massachusetts grew up with a family in the restaurant and catering business. She has been batiking for over 30 years and the mix of cheerful colors and radiant images have inspired the decor and warmth of Cafe Rae. You can see Jenny's vivid designs in every detail of the restaurant and her t-shirts, drapes and table cloths are for sale in a small boutique area in the restaurant which is devoted to her art.

Terry Shapiro is a self taught chef born of the rock and roll catering business. His work extends as far back as Woodstock '94, and his list of clients include the Rolling Stones, Yanni and Neil Diamond. Terry was also the chef for the 311 & Warped Tour. Terry was the owner of a small restaurant in Massachusetts before opening Cafe Rae. His culinary style is uniquely health conscious with generous homemade portions. Chef Terry has recently added paleo meals to his repertoire and they can be ordered daily directly from Cafe Rae.

The Shapiro's have been residents of California for over 11 years and opened Cafe Rae in November of 2007. They have one daughter named Sofia Rae.(More Info)
